Behind the result - No mystery in the method
The tool lists the selected observations, area and frequency. It then uses fixed rules, in this order: a reported sighting produces “Sighting reported; species unconfirmed”; droppings, gnaw marks or possible nesting material produce “Signs to have professionally reviewed”; noise or odor alone produce “Unconfirmed observation”; no selected signs produce “No signs selected—not an all-clear.”
Repeated observations add a follow-up note, not an estimate of rodent numbers. Safety flags override the routine heading. A selected food-area location plus droppings automatically raises the food-contamination flag even if its checkbox was not selected. No image analysis, droppings measurement, probability score or species guess is used.
This tool does not inspect a home, diagnose an infestation, fetch live prices or book a service. It cannot identify disease risk, certify safety or replace a qualified professional. Blank optional fields are omitted. Entered text is displayed literally, not interpreted as HTML. Tool inputs stay in the open page and are not sent to or stored by this plugin.

Can this identify mice versus rats?
No. Similar signs can have different causes, and this page cannot inspect or verify them. It only organizes your report. Ask a qualified professional to confirm the cause and species without approaching or handling an animal.
Should I collect or measure droppings for the tool?
No. Do not touch, sweep, vacuum or collect suspected rodent waste to answer a question. Use only observations already made from a safe position. Droppings in food areas are a reason to contact a professional.
Does this tool store my address or details?
No address is requested, and the plugin does not transmit or store tool inputs. Values exist only in the open page’s memory. Reset clears the tool. Your browser, downloaded files, print services and any email you deliberately send are separate; see the Privacy Policy.
Can I save or share this result?
