Behind the result - No mystery in the method
Each condition is scored 0, 1 or 2 as shown in its choices. Uncertainty receives 1. We multiply gaps and exposed food by 3 each, water by 2, and clutter and outdoor shelter by 1 each. Weighted points therefore range from 0 to 20. The index is round(100 × weighted points ÷ 20).
0–24 is labeled “Routine check priorities,” 25–59 “Several maintenance priorities,” and 60–100 “Many maintenance priorities.” These bands are arbitrary organizational thresholds, not validated pest-risk categories. The result lists each factor’s points and a matching prevention task. Safety flags override the routine heading regardless of score. A zero score is not an all-clear; hidden activity and unknown conditions remain possible.
This tool does not inspect a home, diagnose an infestation, fetch live prices or book a service. It cannot identify disease risk, certify safety or replace a qualified professional. Blank optional fields are omitted. Entered text is displayed literally, not interpreted as HTML. Tool inputs stay in the open page and are not sent to or stored by this plugin.

Is the score my chance of having rodents?
No. The 0–100 number is an arithmetic maintenance index, not a percentage likelihood, prediction, diagnosis or professional risk rating. The weights and bands are openly stated and are not statistically validated.
What if I cannot check an area?
Choose the uncertainty option rather than entering an unsafe space. It scores 1 to record the information gap. Ask a qualified person to review inaccessible, electrical or contaminated areas; never climb, disturb waste or approach an animal for a score.
Does this tool store my address or details?
No address is requested, and the plugin does not transmit or store tool inputs. Values exist only in the open page’s memory. Reset clears the tool. Your browser, downloaded files, print services and any email you deliberately send are separate; see the Privacy Policy.
Can I save or share this result?
Use Print / Save PDF to open your browser’s print dialog, or Download text for a plain-text copy. There is no public result URL or automatic sharing. Saved files may include your optional label and note. Remove private details before sharing them.
